Abstract
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) represents a broad spectrum of disorders that affect the heart and blood vessels and is currently leading to death globally Excessive because increase in consumption of dietary fats, particularly saturated and trans fats, is strongly associated with obesity, dyslipidemia, and cardiovascular diseases, while also contributing to an increased risk of diabetes and other chronic disorders. In order to cure induced fat reflux in male albino rats, the current work attempts to determine the therapeutic significance of bromelain loaded on silver nanoparticles. In the current study, 40 healthy rats were fed diets containing 30% fat for 60 days in order to induce hyperlipidemia. Following this time frame, the animals were split up into four groups, each with ten rats. The first group received no medication; the second group received 125 mg of bromelain daily; the third group received 125 mg of bromelain loaded on 20 nm-sized silver nanoparticles daily; the fourth group and it received 10 mg of atorvastatin daily. After 60 days blood was drawn from the heart and serum was separated by centrifuge 3000 rpm for 15 minutes. The result showed that there was a significant decrease (p ≤ 0.05) in the level of harmful fats (triglyceride, total cholesterol, Low-Density Lipoprotein and very Low-Density Lipoprotein) in the blood serum, in addition to an increase in the amount of high -Density Lipoprotein in the bromelain + silver nanoparticles group when compared with the other groups.
In conclusion that when bromelain - loaded silver nanoparticles, it contributes to reducing harmful fats (triglyceride, cholesterol, Low-Density Lipoprotein and very Low-Density Lipoprotein) and increasing beneficial ones more effectively than when bromelain is alone and atorvastatin.
